"A person who loves the land of China will surely love every stream, every inch of land, and every page of its glorious history."
This was a passionate confession made by Comrade Xi Jinping when he was working in Zhengding, Hebei more than 30 years ago.
Many years later, leading the giant ship "China" to ride the wind and waves, General Secretary Xi Jinping proudly declared: "The excellent traditional Chinese culture created and continued by the Chinese nation in thousands of years of history is the root and soul of the Chinese nation."
Looking up at the historical sky of Chinese civilization and tempering the contemporary essence of Chinese culture and Chinese spirit, General Secretary Xi Jinping led the Chinese people to stride forward on the road of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with incomparable firm cultural confidence.
"If there is no 5,000-year-old Chinese civilization, where are the Chinese characteristics?"
In July 2003, He Guanxin, then secretary of the Yuhang District Committee of Hangzhou, Zhejiang, received a notice: Xi Jinping, secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, was going to come to Liangzhu Site for research.
In a small conference room at Liangzhu Museum, Xi Jinping watched a documentary on the protection of Liangzhu culture and listened to a report on the situation.
At this time, Liangzhu was in a contradiction between protection and development. There are more than 30 stone mines distributed in the site area, with loud noise and thick dust. Local people joked that they could write and paint on the tables and chairs at home without wiping them for half a day, and archaeologists criticized the area with great pain for the "rumbling sound of artillery like a battlefield".
"The Liangzhu site is a holy place that proves the 5,000-year history of Chinese civilization. It is a rare and precious treasure. We must protect it well!" Xi Jinping said firmly.
Liangzhu returned to tranquility from the "cannon sound", and the green mountains have been green since then.
In 2016, four archaeologists wrote to General Secretary Xi Jinping, hoping to promote the early "application for world heritage" of the Liangzhu site. The General Secretary made an important instruction: "We must strengthen the effective protection of ancient sites, conduct systematic archaeological excavations with focus, and continuously deepen the understanding of the long history and precious value of Chinese civilization."
Three years later, the Liangzhu Ancient City Site was selected into the "World Heritage List". This most direct and powerful evidence of China's 5,000-year history of civilization has since received more widespread attention from the international community.
How far you can see the past, how far you can see the future.
"Where do we come from? Where are we going? As China has come to this day, I remind myself all the time that we must have such a sense of history..." Since the 18th CPC National Congress, General Secretary Xi Jinping has led the Chinese people on the road to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with firm cultural awareness and self-confidence.
In November 2013, during a visit to the Confucius Mansion and Confucius Institute in Qufu, Shandong, the General Secretary saw the two books, "A General Explanation of Confucius' Family Sayings" and "An Interpretation of the Analects", and picked them up with interest: "I want to take a closer look at these two books."

Scholars attending the International Academic Symposium to Commemorate the 2565th Anniversary of the Birth of Confucius and the Fifth Members' Conference of the International Confucian Association were surprised to find that the conference welcomed a special participant - Chinese President Xi Jinping.
"It is a great pleasure to have friends coming from afar." Xi Jinping quoted the opening words of the Analects as an opening remark to welcome guests from various countries.
