According to GB3836.3-2010 and IEC60079-7:2006, there are clear requirements regarding whether a purging device should be installed for increased safety motors. This includes assessing the safety factor of the motor, evaluating the potential spark hazard in the air gap of the rotor, and assessing the potential discharge hazard of the stator winding. If the hazard assessment factor is greater than 6, a purging device must be added to enhance the safety and reliability of the increased safety motor. Article 5.2.7 of the national standard GB3836.3-2010 states that 'increased safety motors must undergo ventilation purging before each start, and the responsibility for pre-start ventilation purging and maintenance of the motor lies with the user.' Therefore, using an intelligent automatic purging device to first replace harmful gases inside the motor casing before starting is not only a requirement for production safety but also a requirement of national standards.
